Hello,

Effective May 16, 2013 we will no longer be using the Elluminate product.  After that date, we will be using a product called Collaborate for all synchronous and asynchronous class sessions. Collaborate is very similar product, but has an enhanced interface which is superior in many ways to the Elluminate interface, audio quality being the most important.

We will be scheduling training sessions on the use of  Collaborate before Summer sessions begin and also before the Fall semester. Dates to be announced.

Any Elluminate recordings that are you wish to have access to in the future must be downloaded from the servers at ITEC prior to the cutover date (5/16/2013),

Blackboard provides a program called PUBLISH to download and convert your recordings to a format that can be viewed without the Elluminate service. If you do not publish your recorded sessions prior to the cutover date (5/16/2013 ) you will not be able to access them. All files will be deleted from ITEC’s system after the cutover

Since the files may be large from 10-125MB depending on the length,  you may not have enough hard drive space to store your sessions. These sessions can be stored on a cloud service such as Dropbox or Google Drive.  You can also burn them to a DVD or purchase an external hard drive to store them.  If you need help setting these up, please contact Kevin Volo, ext.7167.
