Representatives from SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) will share exciting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics-focused (STEM) concepts as part of a weekly summer program at Albany-based 15-LOVE. Children from local public and charter schools will take part in hands-on, nano-centered activities each week; they will be able to make a nano and nature-inspired butterfly craft during the initial session.

During each of the following weeks, sessions will include activities that teach principles related to gravity and density with nanoparticle bottles and density balls; electricity and magnetism with tin can robots and magnetic slime; solar power with solar s’mores; polymers with silly putty; and the final session will feature nano-inspired treats.

SUNY Poly’s educational outreach effort showcases its dedication to providing valuable educational experiences to people from all backgrounds and complements 15-LOVE’s mission focusing on development of the whole child by providing life lessons, especially through tennis and other engaging programming. In addition to the June 28 session, the engagement will take place at the same time each Thursday through August 2, 2018.

Please note: the sessions will provide great video and photo opportunities. Reporters/photographers wishing to cover the activities should arrive at 15-LOVE’s Washington Avenue location between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. on June 28; July 5, 12, 19, 26; and/or August 2.
