HEERF II (CRRSAA) Student Emergency Grants

SUNY Poly received Student Aid funding under the CRRSAA section 314(a)(1) program. This program, with some changes, provides supplemental funds to the CARES Act section 18004(a)(1) program. SUNY Poly signed and returned to the Education Department a Certification and Agreement as required under the CARES Act section 18004(a)(1) program. We acknowledge that by drawing down the CRRSAA Student Aid Funds, our institution agrees to be bound by the conditions set forth in the CRRSAA Student Aid Supplemental Agreement including using 100 percent of these Student Aid Funds to provide emergency aid grants to students.

SUNY Poly has received or will receive $1,064,755 from the Department of Education pursuant to the Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

SUNY Poly has distributed $1,064,255.08 thus far under the CRRSAA Act as of June 30, 2021.

The Department of Education has stated that these funds are to be distributed to students who are experiencing a hardship that is the result of the disruption in campus activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students must be eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid (including loans) in order to qualify for CARES Act funds. Aid is available for undergraduate students as well as graduate students. Unlike HEERF I (CARES) funds, students enrolled in exclusively online programs are eligible for HEERF II (CRRSAA) funds.

Per guidance from the Education Department and SUNY System, students must be matriculated in a degree program, must have filed a 2020-2021 FAFSA Application (and completed verification if required), and must have an Estimated family Contribution within the Pell-eligible range. Students who meet these criteria will be emailed and notified of their award. Those students who did not incur eligible expenses must notify the Financial Aid Office in order to decline or reduce their award.

Awards will vary by enrollment level (full or part-time) and EFC. Eligible students will receive an email indicating their individual award amount.
