New First-Year Student Enrollment Checklist

Congratulations on your acceptance to SUNY Poly!

Let your journey to becoming a Wildcat start here! The following steps can be completed by logging into your Undergraduate Status Portal and selecting the “Accepted Student” tab.

You’ve made your decision and you’re ready to make it official. To accept or decline your offer of admission:

  1. Pay your Enrollment Deposit of $250
  2. Submit the online Deposited Student Information Form emailed to you AFTER your deposit has been received and processed.

If you have not already applied for financial aid, submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

SUNY Poly is excited to welcome all students to campus. Our in-person tours will remain small and personalized for the best experience. If you can’t make it to campus in-person, we have a number of opportunities to meet you virtually.

Once your enrollment deposit and Deposited Student Information Form are received and the Enrollment Checklist is live, you will receive an email instructing you to login and complete your next steps in finalizing your enrollment. 

The Enrollment Checklist for fall admission will be live in early May.

Congratulations on your acceptance to SUNY Polytechnic Institute! To enhance the educational experience of our students, we recommend new students in the following majors to purchase a laptop providing the mobility needed to work anywhere on campus. The laptop specifications should provide students with a machine that is powerful enough to use during all four years and even after graduation. 

There are minimum specifications for PC laptops for students in the following majors:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Civil Engineering Technology
  • Computer Engineering Technology
  • Electrical + Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Network + Computer Security: Cybersecurity

View the minimum laptop specifications for your major.

The minimum hardware requirements for Engineering and Engineering Technology majors are:

  • Computer:  PC (Apple is not recommended)
  • O/S: Windows 11  
  • Processor: Intel i7 (higher speed is better but varies cost varies with speed)
  • System Memory: 16 GB Minimum (32GB is preferred)
  • Drive: 1 terabyte SSD Drive
  • USB: 3.0
  • Graphics Video: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or 3070 or AMD Radeon RX6700XT or 6800 or equivalent graphics capability
