MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletics Department is pleased to announce the addition of a varsity mixed golf team starting in the fall of 2022. The team will compete in the North Atlantic Conference and in NCAA DIII. Both male and female golfers will have the opportunity to participate on the team, and the team will initially plan to compete in the fall season. The NAC Championship is sponsored in the fall whereas the NCAA Championship is sponsored in the spring.

The addition of a golf program will be the 13th varsity sport offered at SUNY Poly. The athletics department will be finalizing the details of the program later this summer including the hiring of a head coach, establishing a home course, and creating a competition schedule.

We are excited to bring this new program to SUNY Poly" said Athletic Director Megan Valentine. This addition makes a lot of sense for us on a number of levels. We know that within 100 miles of our campus, golf is a popular and successful sport at the High School level. There is also already a strong interest and solid engagement in the sport on campus through club offerings. From an NCAA sports sponsorship standpoint, it was time for us to add another sport to our program. Golf will provide us a cushion and some added security to meet membership requirements in the NCAA. We are looking forward to providing our students with another great opportunity, starting this fall, to compete and grow through participation in collegiate athletics."
