SUNY Poly Foundation Welcomes Dawn Roller to Board of Directors
Alumni Association Advisory Committee also welcomes five new members
UTICA, NY – The SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Dawn Roller, Associate Vice President of Human Resources at Indium Corporation, to its Board of Directors.
Since joining Indium Corporation, a global materials manufacturer for the electronics, semiconductor, and automotive industries headquartered in Clinton, N.Y., in 1986, Roller has advanced through a range of leadership roles across global operations, customer service, logistics, IT, and human resources. Today, she brings nearly four decades of experience and a steadfast commitment to workforce development, STEM education, and community engagement to her new role on the Foundation Board.
“Being part of SUNY Poly’s Foundation Board is deeply meaningful to me,” said Dawn Roller. “As someone who has seen the impact of education on individual lives and community growth, I look forward to supporting the Foundation’s mission to expand opportunity for students and strengthen our region’s future workforce.”
At Indium Corporation, Roller has helped shape apprenticeship, recruitment, and retention programs—including its award-winning internship program, which has launched more than 100 student careers since 2012. Under her leadership, the company has built strong connections with educational institutions such as SUNY Poly to strengthen the region’s talent pipeline and create pathways into manufacturing for women, veterans, and nontraditional job seekers. Her efforts reflect Indium Corporation’s commitment to being a good neighbor and fostering opportunity for future generations.
Active in numerous regional initiatives, Roller has served on the BOCES School-to-Business Alliance Board, the Reimagine St. Luke’s Advisory Board, and is a graduate of the LeadFORWARD leadership program. Her leadership philosophy—rooted in inclusion, professional growth, and community service—has earned recognition through honors such as the YWCA Mohawk Valley’s Salute to Outstanding Women (STEAM category, 2022) and the 2024 Women of Distinction Award.
“We are honored to welcome Dawn Roller to the Foundation Board,” said Andrea LaGatta, SUNY Poly Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “Her decades of leadership at Indium Corporation and her deep engagement in workforce development mirror SUNY Poly’s mission to create pathways for learning and career success. Dawn’s perspective will be invaluable as we continue to expand opportunities for our students and strengthen ties with the community.”
The SUNY Poly Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation established in 1974, encourages philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations to provide scholarships, assist faculty and staff, and advance campus development. The Foundation’s Board of Directors, composed of alumni, college representatives, and community leaders, provides exemplary leadership and oversight to ensure the financial health and fiscal stewardship of the Foundation.
