SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) will welcome award-winning journalist and NBC News Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent Ryan Nobles back to the Utica area, where he began his journalism career at WKTV NewsChannel 2, for a special event on Saturday, October 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Field House.

Presented in partnership with WKTV NewsChannel 2 and sponsored by the SUNY Poly Center for Business and Applied Ethics, “From Utica to the Nation: A Conversation with Ryan Nobles, NBC News’ Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent,” will be moderated by WKTV NewsChannel 2 Evening Anchor Jason Powles.

Tickets for this free event will be available to the public this Wednesday, September 2, beginning at noon. With limited seating, tickets are expected to go quickly and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Nobles is NBC News’ Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent based in Washington, D.C., appearing regularly across NBC News platforms, including TODAY, NBC Nightly News, NBC News NOW and NBCNews.com. Before joining NBC News in 2022, Nobles spent eight years at CNN, where he covered Capitol Hill, presidential campaigns, national investigations and major political developments.

The event brings Nobles back to the Mohawk Valley where his career first took shape. After getting his journalism start at WKTV NewsChannel 2 in Utica, he went on to report for WTEN in Albany and WWBT in Richmond, Virginia, before making the transition to national political reporting and becoming one of the country’s prominent Capitol Hill correspondents.

The conversation will explore Nobles’ career and experiences covering Congress and national politics, as well as topics related to media, public service and ethical leadership. The event will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear directly from one of the nation’s leading political journalists.
