Undergraduate Transfer Students

You are considered an undergraduate transfer student at SUNY Poly if you completed any college credit after high school graduation. If you earned college credit before high school graduation - regardless of the number of credit hours - you are considered a freshman/first-year student.
Application information on this page is only for undergraduate transfer students. If you are a current graduate student at another college or university and are looking to transfer to a SUNY Poly graduate program, submit the Graduate Application

Application Options

You can apply by submitting one of the following applications:

SUNY APPLICATION
The SUNY Application allows you to apply to multiple SUNY schools with one application.

COMMON APPLICATION
The Common Application allows you to apply to over 500 participating schools with one application.

 Both applications require a non-refundable $50 fee.
If you are applying with the SUNY Application and are graduating or have recently graduated with an AA or AS degree from a SUNY Community College, SUNY will waive your $50 application fee.

Application Criteria and Required Documentation

Submit the following documents for a completed application:

  • All official college or university transcript(s)
  • An official high school transcript is required for applicants that have completed less than 30 credits.**

The following additional items may be requested upon further review:

  • SUNY Poly Supplemental Application: will be added to application checklist if needed.

**All enrolling transfer students, per federal mandate, must submit a high school transcript to the Admissions Office as part of the final enrollment process. However, this transcript will only be used as an evaluative tool in the review process if you have completed 30 or fewer college credit hours at the time of application; otherwise, decisions are made solely on the basis of your college record.

Transcripts and other application material should be mailed to:
