Annual Scholarships + Awards

The SUNY Polytechnic Institute Foundation offers a wide range of scholarships for students who have demonstrated strong academic ability and community service. These scholarship funds assist SUNY Poly in attracting and retaining students as we face ever-increasing competition for enrollment. Gifts for scholarships are significant in promoting SUNY Poly's visibility and in aiding students of diverse ages and backgrounds who might otherwise look to another institution or who might miss out on the college experience altogether. We take pride in the growing number of endowed and annual scholarships which are made possible through the support to the Foundation and the SUNY Poly Annual Fund. Endowed and donor restricted scholarships have been established at SUNY Poly by alumni, corporations, family members, and friends of the college for the purpose of providing support to deserving and outstanding students. All Foundation scholarships are merit based and require no application process.

For information about funding a scholarship, please contact the SUNY Poly Foundation at (315) 792-7273 or email foundation@sunypoly.edu.

SUNY Poly Receives Largest Individual Donor Gifts in its History

Family of the late Francis A. Wilcox commits total of $1,900,000 to
support engineering-focused renovations, tools, and resources and
student scholarships at SUNY Poly.

The SUNY Poly Foundation has received a total of $1.9 million from the late Francis A. Wilcox—the largest individual donor contributions in the institution’s history. One gift of $1 million will support undergraduate student scholarships, and another gift of $900,000 will support the renovation of four electrical and computer engineering/engineering technology laboratories and the purchase of new, state-of-the-art equipment.

The “Francis A. Wilcox Scholarship” will provide critical financial support to SUNY Poly students who demonstrate merit and/or financial need, especially, but not limited to, those enrolled in the College of Engineering.

This transformational gift will be dedicated to defraying the costs for qualifying students to attend SUNY Poly, helping to make an education at SUNY Poly even more affordable while providing students with the resources they need to achieve academic—and later—career success.
