programs and research at Northeastern University in Boston,
will present "Games User Experience and Design Research" March
6, 12:30 p.m., in the Student Center multipurpose room.

The presentation will explore game design, an evolving
field that is stimulated by interdisciplinary research in
psychology, computer science, human computer interaction, and
media arts, including film, theatre, and animation. Researchers
are exploring a better understanding of game users' motivations,
personalities, emotions, tendencies, and habits; the results
have potential for traditional gaming as well as educational and
health-based social media environments and games.

Seif El-Nasr holds a Ph.D. in computer science from
Northwestern University and a master of science in computer
science from Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on
enhancing game designs by developing tools and methods for
evaluating and adapting game experiences; Her work is
internationally known and has been cited in several game
                industry books.
