Lecturer to address technology education in Cuba
 
The SUNYIT President's Lecture Series will feature Jose Martinez-Escanaverino, a scholar with experience in engineering education and research at universities of Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, Germany, and Mexico, on April 11, at noon, in the Student Center theater. Martinez-Escanaverino will present "International Technology Education: A Case Study in Cuba." The lecture is free and open to the public.
            
                 Martinez-Escanaverino, a Canada-based engineering consultant with
            international practice in complex industrial problem solving, was a
            member
            of the Cuban Academy of Sciences from 1996 to 2011, and the
            coordinator of
            its Engineering Sciences Section from 2003-2008. He earned a Ph. D.
            in
            engineering sciences from J.A. Echeverria Higher Polytechnic
            Institute
            (CUJAE), Havana, Cuba; and a B.Sc. in Mechanical engineering from
            Havana
            University, Faculty of Technology (CUJAE).
