ALBANY and UTICA, NY – Graduating students celebrated as they took part in SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s  (SUNY Poly’s) 2022 commencement ceremonies and were congratulated by Acting President Tod A. Laursen and Interim Provost Steve Schneider, as well as deans and faculty from the institute’s five colleges.

SUNY Poly’s College of Engineering held its ceremony Friday, May 6, followed by ceremonies for graduates from the College of Business, College of Health Sciences, and College of Arts and Sciences on Saturday, May 7 at the institution’s Utica  campus. The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at the Albany campus held its commencement exercises Friday, May 13. In total, nearly 525 students received a bachelor’s degree and more than 225 earned a graduate degree or certificate of advanced study.

“I am proud to congratulate SUNY Poly’s newest graduates who have all persevered to achieve degrees, even as their academic careers coincided with the pandemic’s impact,” said Dr. Tod A. Laursen, Acting President of SUNY Poly. “I salute their dedication and determination, which will now support their attainment of exciting, impactful careers across New York State and beyond. I look forward to welcoming them back to campus in the future to reflect on all they gained from SUNY Poly’s hands-on, affordable educational experience.”

The top three undergraduate degrees awarded by number of students were computer and information science, business administration, and nursing.
