UTICA – Students in grades K-12 this summer will have the opportunity to expand their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) horizons while being introduced to the faculty and state-of-the-art facilities at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) Utica campus.

SUNY Poly’s STEM Exploration Camps will offer a variety of applied and creative technology, robotics and inventions day camps for ages 6-18 in July and August.

This year’s camps, many of which will be instructed by SUNY Poly faculty, include a “Build it, Use it, TAKE a 3D Printer home!” camp generously supported by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Air Force STEM. Other camp offerings include three different levels of FIRST Robotics including LEGO Mindstorms, 3D Video Game Animation, STEAM Fashion, Build Your Own Virtual World, Digital Farm to Table, Mystery Solver’s Science, 3D Video Game Animation and more.

Tuition ranges from $125 to $425 per camp. Need-based scholarships are available. For more information and online registration link, visit www.sunypoly.edu/k12-outreach/stem-camp.

A hands-on approach in all the camps will introduce concepts in a fun way while linking projects and processes to real-world applications. Special guest visits from professionals in related fields further enrich the experience.
