SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s (SUNY Poly’s) Albany campus will host a STEM-focused competition on Saturday, December 14 in the Zero Energy Nanotechnology (ZEN) atrium. The event allows students to use VEX robots, helping to inspire STEM-based learning in New York State.

The event will feature more than one dozen teams comprised of local high school students who will take part in the “tower takeover”-themed, hands-on experience. The students will use working VEX robots they have designed to complete a specific set of challenges as they go head-to-head against opponents.

Similar competitions take place in every state and 40+ countries, providing participants with hands-on engineering experience, a competitive environment, and life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, communication, collaboration, project management, and critical thinking.
