SUNYIT high-needs grant 2nd largest awarded
 
            
SUNYIT will receive the second-highest award given to SUNY campuses across the state to support workforce development in high-need career fields. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced that 63 programs will receive more than $12 million in funding over the next three years under the SUNY High Needs Program. The top four grants are: Stony Brook University, $2,446,537; SUNYIT, $1,762,950; Binghamton University, $1,704,000; and the University at Buffalo, $1,265,000.
            
                 "Thanks to
                    the SUNY High Needs Program, SUNYIT can continue to support
                    New York's growing need for graduates pursuing careers in a
                    variety of 21st century fields," said William W. Durgin,
                    SUNYIT provost. "Educating students in these critical areas
                    is an important part of our mission, and high-needs funding
                    will pay significant dividends as graduates become part of
                    New York's growing workforce."
