Transfer Student Admission Criteria

All transfer applications will be reviewed on an individual basis. We know each transfer student has a unique educational background so it is important for us to get to know you and your academic interests.   • Accounting
    • Recommended Transfer Programs: Accounting, Business Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, Financial Services Management
  • Applied Computing
    • Recommended Transfer Programs: Any programs not generally associated with computing.
  • Applied Mathematics
    • Recommended Transfer Programs: General Studies Math and Science, Engineering Science
  • Biology
    • Recommended Transfer Programs: General Studies Math and Science, Liberal Arts and Sciences: Biology,
    • Recommended Course Work: Biology I & II, Chemistry I & II, Physics I, Statistics, and Calculus
  • Business Administration
    • Recommended Transfer Programs: Accounting, Business Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, Financial Services Management, Human Resource Management
    • Students eligible for this option must have at least two years of full-time work experience, or part-time employment that is cumulatively equivalent to two or more years of full-time work experience. Students must also have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours. Please contact Admissions if you are interested in the online option but don't meet the listed criteria. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Computer & Information Science

    • Required Coursework with a grade of B or higher: Computing Fundamentals, Data Structures & Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, Finite or Discrete Mathematics, and an additional mathematics elective.
    • Program Information: Students entering the joint BS/MS program must not have completed more than 94 credit hours toward their Bachelor’s degree, and must be able to complete all requirements for the Bachelor’s degree within the first 124 semester hours earned.

      • Program Information: This program is offered in an online format. All HIM courses (except for professional practice experiences), are available online. Some courses also ask the students to meet virtually, as a group (via the Internet) a few times during the semester. Students who were unable to participate at the posted time will record all online class meetings for later playback.

        • Program Information: To be eligible for this program you must have an associate in nursing from a state and/or nationally accredited program by the time of enrollment. You must also pass the RN licensure exam prior to the completion of your first semester of study at SUNY Poly.
      • Accelerated RN/BS/MS Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner
        • Required Transfer Program: Nursing
        • Program Information: To be eligible for this program you must have an associate in nursing from a state and/or nationally accredited program, and must have worked in the field and accumulated 2000 hours of post RN clinical experience.
